The series „norm“ deals with photographs of the interior of various administrative institutions of the city of Vienna. These are photographs from more than twenty different public institutions, including several ministries, magistrate departments, a school, registry offices, the professional rescue service or the Court of Audit. The spaces are characterized by bureaucratic and commercial systems, which give them the predominant architecturally sensible and functionally appropriate appearance. There are no people in the photographs. The focus lies on the design and furnishings of these spaces and their effect. The individual rooms are not representative of the particular location, but of a type of space. It is a series of photographs from which an aesthetic program of the public sector can be read.
